Happy Sunday. Here’s Neelam and Shaun and their lovely adventure around Sausalito. Turns out the location we shot at is a family favorite for crabbing/fishing.

Comments:
  • I am a professional photographer (wedding, engagements primarily) and I must say that the first photo in this series is one of the most beautiful images I have ever seen.

Question, the picture with the couple sitting down in the grass together – what light modifier are you using? It looks like a hard light. Was it a very focused reflector?

  • Thanks for replying, Jason!

A beauty dish. OK, I should have known! I take my kacey dish on all my shoots too but lately I’ve been toying with the idea of getting an elinchrom high performance reflector to truly compete with the sun. Although I think the shadows may be too strong and having to fill them with a second strobe would be far too bothersome. (I’ve yet to attempt to go head to head with the sun using just my dish/dual speedlite)

Your work should be flooded with comments by fans. Your work is overflowing with signs of your incredible talent. It’s also shown me not to settle for a standard of quality but to keep pushing and challenging my creativity and skills.

It’s rare that I see consistently exceptional photography that spans across an entire body of work by a regular hard working photographer like yourself. You’re doing some amazing stuff – keep on doing what you’re doing.

    Wishing you continued success,
    Jon
